IUO appoints Esimaje the Super Eagles Outfit designer as University Ambassador.


The designer of the Super Eagles ceremonial attire which was judged the best ceremonial attire at the opening ceremony of the Russia 2018 FIFA world cup, Esimaje Awani Vincent has been appointed an Amabasssdor of Igbinedion University Okada.


Esimaje Awani is a 100 Level Law Student at the Oba Erediauwa College of Law of Igbinedion University.

In a letter signed and presented to Esimaje by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof (Rev.) Eghosa Osaghae in his office, the University management commended the Super Eagles ceremonial dress designer for bringing honour to the Univerity with his accomplishment noting that he has demonstrated the creativity and entrepreneurship which is the core of the University's academic.


The Vice-Chancellor in his remark during the presentation praised the talent and determination of the new celebrity designer to succeed inspite of all odds. He therefore anmounced the conferment of the status of IUO Ambassador on the new celebrity designer, Mr. Esimaje Awani Vincent.


The Vice-Chancellor further announced the University Management decision to commission Esimaje to design a befitting ceremonial attire for the University’s Matriculations and Convocation ceremonies.


He further charged the student turned national designer to utilise the honour, privileges and rights bestowed on him as an Ambassador of the university to be a role-model for other students to follow.


In his response, the student designer, Mr. Esimaje thanked the University for recognizing his efforts and achievement. He recounted his experience in class as a student with the Vice-Chancellor as his Lecturer earlier this year and acknowledged that part of the virtues that spurred him to success was the discipline, depth and excellence that the VC imparted to the class through his lecture content and style of delivery which he said could be best described as extraordinary.


He described his achievement as God designed because of the many obstacles he encountered from the beginning to the end of the task. He said his design competed with leading designers such as Nike but that God favoured him. He said his most arduous moment was the bidding stage followed by the production stage in which he had to produce the entire custome which comprised of the hat, up and down dress and shoe in just two weeks.


Mr. Esimaje also used the opprtunity to thank the NFA and the Federal Government for patronising indigenous talents and entrepreneurs like him observing that such gesture.
