IUO PROMOTES ENTREPRENEURSHIP AMOING 300 LEVEL STUDENTS



The Vice Chancellor Igbinedion University has announced support packages for student groups at he just concluded 7th entrepreneurship exhibition of the Dr. David Osunde Centre of Entrepreneurship Igbinedion University Okada. The Vice Chancellor announced the introduction of prizes to the best group and the best student entrepreneurial among the exhibitors. He also informed that several of the units under the skill acquisition programme he cited the tailoring school as one of the beneficiary stating that the tailoring unit of the EPS will now be empowered, to produce lab coat for student in various department where it is needed.

He also announced that the Department of Fabrics and Textile will be commissioned to produce Adire bounded jotters with Igbinedion University Okada Inscription for the 21st anniversary of the University and the Convocation Ceremony holding this year. Also, the department of publishing will be commissioned to produce table HP Calender for all offices and staff of the university.

The Vice Chancellor also informed that he has directed the Director of Intellectual property transfer office to immediately commerce registration and patenting of the technological device produced by the department of technology and creativity.

The Vice Chancellor announced the cash prize of N200,000 to the winner of the best entrepreneurial group which was won by the school of Catering while Nursing Student Miss Peace Nwaokocha won the best entrepreneurial student of the year.

The exhibition featured 12 departments including; Animal husbandry, Cosmetics, School of Music, School of Textile designs, School of fashion, School of Technology, School of Catering, School of Tailoring, School of Hair Care, School of Desktop Computer, School of Bakery Confectionary, School of Block Molding.

The Vice Chancellor and members of Staff also took time to go round the exhibition stand to inspect wears by the students.
