NEW IUTH BOARD INAUGURATED



A new management board has been inaugurated for the Igbinedion University Teaching Hospital. The new board headed by Prof. Abiodun Ilesanmi former Chief Medical Director University College Hospital UCH Ibadan. Prof. Ilesanmi is also a member of the governing council of Igbinedion University Okada. The Inauguration Ceremony held at a Tele-Conference room in the Teaching Hospital Complex at Okada and was performed by the Deputy Chancellor of the university Chief Dr. Lucky Nosakhare Igbinedion representing the founder and proprietor Sir Chief Dr. Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion.

Chief Lucky Igbinedion in his address, expressed confidence in the composition of the new members of the board which he said were carefully selected with owing to there pedigree, experience and past records. He therefore challenged the new board to leave no stone unturned and to think outside the box in order to proffer solutions to whatever challenge maybe facing the Teaching Hospital and to ensure that the Teaching Hospital attain and surpass its past glory as a medical research and service certain of note in the country.

Earlier, the chairman of the council Igbinedion University Okada Prof. Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah assured the new board of continuous support from the university. He maintained that he synergy between the University and the Teaching Hospital would be further strengthened with the coming on board of the New Chairman who is a member of the governing council of the university.

Prof. Abdullah, however called on the federal government and stakeholders in the Health sector to evolve workable policies and funding structure that would enhance Medicare in the Country. He lamented the lack of intervention funds to encourage well deserving private medical institution like the Igibnedion University Okada Teaching Hospital.

In his acceptance speech, the new Igbinedion University Teaching Hospital Board Chairman Prof. Abiodun Ilesanmi expressed gratitude on behalf of other members of the board for the good thoughts towards them and the confidence repost in them to be called to serve on the board.

Prof. Ilesanmi assured the founder and proprietor that the newly constituted board will work concertedly with the college of Medicine of the university and all relevant stakeholders to revive teaching Hospital and put it in the lead of other Teaching Hospital in the Country. He Commended the founder and proprietor for his Immense Contribution to the society and the state of art facilities put in place at the inception of the Teaching Hospital. He also noted with joy the pedigree and caliber of other members of the board which he described as an invaluable asset to be tapped for the success of the board.
